Hours passed.
Doctors continued running tests while Sharra waited outside.

Sharra rushed into the hospital room.

Her mother looked weak and frightened.
“What happened?” Sharra whispered.
Her mother tried to speak.

“Mom, please. Tell me what happened.”
Her mother looked toward the doorway.
Then she whispered:

“Warned about what?”
Her mother swallowed hard.
“They told me not to…”
Her voice became weaker.
“Not to what?” Sharra asked.
Her mother looked directly into her daughter's eyes.
Sharra felt a chill run through her.
The Name Sharra Never Expected To Hear
Sharra squeezed her mother's hand.
“Mom… who warned you?”
Her mother looked toward Larry.
Then back at Sharra.
She slowly whispered a name.
Sharra leaned closer.
“Who?”
Her mother finally said the name.
Sharra immediately stepped backward.
Her face changed.
“No…”
Larry looked confused.
“What is it?”
Sharra couldn't answer.
The name belonged to someone she knew.
Someone who had been around the family.
Someone Sharra never imagined could be connected to what happened.
Her mother nodded weakly.
“Don't trust them.”
Sharra suddenly understood why the mysterious caller wanted her to stop asking questions.
Someone didn't want the truth uncovered.

Larry looked back at her.

Sharra turned toward the hallway.
