A Secret Plan Nobody Was Supposed to Discover

The morning began peacefully. Sunlight streamed through the windows of the family home while Hope and Faith stood near the kitchen, watching their mother move around the house.

Hope's attention kept drifting toward the car keys sitting on the counter. She had been angry with Brooke for days, and that anger had slowly turned into something far more dangerous.

Hope said nothing. The look on her face made Faith deeply uncomfortable.

Hope snatched the keys and headed toward the garage. Faith followed, hoping she could still persuade her sister to turn around before anything went wrong.

Brooke Appears at the Worst Possible Moment

Minutes later, the car moved through the neighborhood. Faith sat rigidly in the passenger seat, repeatedly asking Hope to slow down and take them home.

Then Hope spotted Brooke jogging along the pavement. Brooke was wearing her athletic clothes and listening to music, unaware that the approaching vehicle contained two people who had been arguing about her only moments earlier.

Hope's grip tightened on the steering wheel. Faith saw her sister change direction toward Brooke and immediately realized that this was no longer an ordinary argument.

Brooke turned at the sound of the engine. Her expression changed from confusion to terror as the car mounted the curb and struck her. She fell onto the pavement while the vehicle stopped nearby.

For several seconds, nobody moved. Then Brooke cried out in pain. Faith stared through the windshield, horrified by what had happened.

Instead of answering, Hope looked anxiously toward the nearby houses. She seemed more frightened of being discovered than of what Brooke was going through.

Bethany Sees Brooke on the Ground

Inside her home, Bethany heard the crash followed by a desperate cry. Her heart began pounding as she rushed to the front window.

The moment she recognized Brooke on the pavement, Bethany ran outside without even stopping to grab her shoes.

Bethany knelt beside Brooke, fighting to control her panic. She wanted to pull her into her arms, but she was afraid of making her injuries worse.

Bethany took out her phone with shaking hands and contacted emergency services. She explained that Brooke had been struck by a car and needed immediate medical attention.

Following the dispatcher's instructions, Bethany stayed beside Brooke and avoided moving her while they waited for help.

The sound of sirens grew louder. Neighbors began gathering at a distance, and several people watched as Hope stood beside the car.

Faith moved closer to Bethany, but Bethany could barely look at her. Her attention remained fixed on Brooke, whose pain and fear were becoming harder to bear.

The Ambulance Arrives — But the Truth Is Only Beginning

Paramedics arrived and quickly assessed Brooke. They prepared her for transport to the hospital while Bethany stayed nearby, desperately hoping that Brooke would recover.

As the ambulance doors closed, Bethany looked back at Hope. Her face was wet with tears, but her expression had changed. Fear was giving way to anger, and anger was turning into a demand for answers.
