Destiny Rises The Fight Isn’t Over Yet

Destiny thought the chaos had finally passed…
But the real storm was only beginning to rise.

The house was quiet.
Too quiet.
The kind of quiet that whispers something is about to break.

1. Destiny’s Heartbeat in the Dark

Destiny closed her bedroom door as softly as she could, though her hands trembled so badly she almost missed the handle. Her pulse pounded in her ears—louder than anything or anyone outside that door.

Bethany’s harsh words still stung her skin.
Sharra’s deadly stare still sliced through her mind.

Destiny—shaken, furious, and barely holding herself together—knew she couldn’t swallow this pain anymore.

Her fingers shook as she reached for her phone.

There was only one person she could call.
Only one voice that never failed her.

Her mother.

The ringing dragged on and on, stretching the air with tension…
until finally, a familiar voice answered.

“Destiny? Sweetheart, why are you calling so late?”

Destiny’s throat closed up. Speaking felt impossible.

“Mom…” Her voice broke. “Something happened.”

Instantly, her mother’s tone sharpened with worry.

“Are you okay? Tell me right now.”

Destiny sank onto her bed, pressing her palm against her forehead.

“It’s Bethany… and Sharra. They—they treated me horribly today.”

A long, dangerous silence filled the phone.

Then her mother spoke—calm, cold, furious:

“What did they do?”

2. The Confession She Didn’t Want to Make

Destiny swallowed hard, the memories rushing back—the cornering, the yelling, the humiliation that clung to her like smoke.

“They embarrassed me,” she whispered. “Bethany threatened me… and Sharra talked to me like I didn’t even belong here.”

Her mother sucked in a sharp breath.

“I’m sorry—EXCUSE me? They said that to you?”

Destiny’s voice trembled.

“Bethany said if I ‘acted up again,’ she’d call someone on me. And Sharra screamed at me like… like I didn’t matter.”

Her mother’s tone hardened into steel.

“You don’t need to prove anything to me. I believe you. But what gives them the right to speak to my daughter like that?”

Destiny blinked fast, trying to keep the tears from falling.

“I didn’t want to bother you…”

“Destiny,” her mother cut in, voice firm and absolute, “you call me every single time something like this happens. Do you hear me?”

That was it.
Destiny broke. The tears came, quiet but unstoppable.

“I just… felt so alone.”

“You’re not alone now,” her mother replied, voice low and burning with anger. “Now tell me everything. From the very beginning.”

Destiny let out a shaky breath and poured the whole story out—every insult, every threat, every moment they cornered her like she wasn’t human.

Her mother didn’t interrupt once.

When Destiny finished, her mother’s voice returned—slow, dangerous, certain:

“Destiny… I’m coming.”

Destiny jerked upright.

“Mom—wait—”

“No.”
“I’m not leaving you there another night. Larry needs to hear this. And Bethany? She’s going to answer for what she said.”

A knot twisted in Destiny’s stomach.

“Mom, please… don’t make it worse…”

“It’s already worse.”
“THEY made it worse. Now I’m dealing with it.”

3. A Knock at the Door… and a Warning Wrapped in Fury

Destiny’s breath caught in her throat.

Her mother showing up right now would be dangerous.
Bethany was unpredictable.
Sharra was explosive.
Larry was barely keeping the peace from shattering.

If her mom walked into this situation…
it would ignite instantly.

“Mom… what if they get mad?”

Her mother let out a cold, humorless laugh.

“They better be scared of ME getting mad.”

Before Destiny could speak—

Knock. Knock.

Her bedroom door.

Bethany’s voice followed, tight and uneasy:

“Destiny? Can we talk?”

Destiny froze.

Her mother’s voice sharpened to a blade.

“Who is that?”

Destiny whispered, “Bethany.”

A pause. Heavy. Dangerous.

Then—

“Put me on speaker.”

Destiny’s eyes widened.
“Mom—”

“Do it.”

Another knock. Harder this time.

“Destiny, open the door.”

Destiny’s hand trembled as she tapped speaker.

Her mother’s voice filled the room, sharp enough to cut the air:

“You’re not opening anything.”

Destiny’s breath hitched.

Larry’s voice joined from the hallway now—

“Destiny? Are you okay in there?”

Destiny clutched the phone tighter.

Her mother whispered, cold and deadly:

“Don’t move. I’m already on my way.”

4. The Storm That Was Already Too Close

Destiny’s heart pounded so fiercely she could hear the blood rushing in her ears.

A storm—real, furious, unstoppable—was charging straight toward Larry’s house.

Bethany didn’t know.
Sharra didn’t know.
Larry didn’t know.

None of them had the faintest clue what they had just triggered.

Destiny stood frozen as the knocking outside her room grew louder, sharper.

And through the phone, her mother’s voice echoed like a warning shot:

“They wanted a problem.
Now they’re about to face one.”

Destiny swallowed hard.

This house…
this night…
this fragile calm…

was seconds away from shattering.
