The house is unusually quiet. Brooke sits alone on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone. There are dozens of messages she could answer. But tonight, she doesn't have the strength to answer anyone.

She wipes away a tear and whispers to herself...

Brooke had spent so much time trying to make everyone understand her. But nobody seemed to understand how tired she really was.

Years earlier, a much younger Brooke sat beside a window. She watched the driveway, waiting for someone to come through the door. She kept believing that somebody would finally choose her. But that night, nobody came.

That memory never completely disappeared. And now, sitting alone in the darkness, Brooke wondered if she had been carrying that pain all along.

Brooke quietly leaves her bedroom. She walks down the hallway and stops outside Larry's room. The door is slightly open. She steps inside.

At first, everything looks normal. Then Brooke notices something tucked away near Larry's desk. A small envelope.

Brooke reaches for it... Then suddenly stops. She hears footsteps somewhere in the hallway.

Brooke quickly steps away from the desk. Her phone suddenly vibrates in her hand. One message. No name. No profile picture. Just an unknown number.

Brooke's heart begins racing. She looks at the envelope again. Then another message appears.

Brooke's hands begin shaking. She opens the envelope. Inside is an old photograph and a folded letter. She looks at the photograph first.

Her expression immediately changes. She recognizes the person standing beside her in the picture. But she has never seen this photograph before.

Brooke stares at the words in disbelief. Before she can read the letter, she hears Larry's voice outside the room.

Brooke freezes. She quickly folds the letter and holds it behind her back. Larry opens the door. For several seconds, neither of them says a word.

Brooke looks at him with tears in her eyes. She finally realizes that the pain she has been carrying may have started long before she understood it. And now she has a choice.
