BROOKE WALKS IN WITH AN ATTITUDE

Brooke's First Day at Work

🔥 BROOKE SHOWS UP TO WORK WITH AN ATTITUDE — THEN CHARLOTTE TEACHES HER A LESSON SHE DIDN’T EXPECT! 😳

THE MORNING BROOKE NEVER EXPECTED

It was early in the morning when Brooke walked into the building looking exhausted and irritated.

She hadn't even expected to be there that morning. According to Brooke, nobody had properly warned her that she was supposed to come in and work.

Charlotte was already inside, preparing the building and getting everything organized.

Charlotte: “Morning, Brooke.”
Brooke: “Good morning.”

Charlotte pointed toward a small display sitting nearby.

Charlotte: “Can you hand me that little display over there so I can put it up here?”

Brooke picked it up and brought it over.

But when Charlotte looked at it, she immediately noticed something was wrong.

Charlotte: “Brooke… that's upside down.”
Brooke: “I don't know why I'm going to be playing with this thing from the floor upside down.”

Charlotte took a breath.

Charlotte: “Honey, it was just placed over there. Just turn it around the right way.”

CHARLOTTE CALLS OUT BROOKE'S ATTITUDE

Brooke turned the display around, but Charlotte could tell something was bothering her.

Charlotte: “This isn't going to work if you're going to come in here with an attitude. I'm trying to help you.”

Brooke immediately defended herself.

Brooke: “I don't have an attitude. I just woke up early.”

She explained that she hadn't even known she was expected to work.

Brooke: “I wasn't expecting to be here last night. Nobody told me. So I woke up on the wrong side of the bed because I woke up at the wrong time.”

Charlotte listened carefully.

Brooke: “If you're mad about my attitude, blame the person who didn't tell me I was supposed to be here.”

Charlotte nodded but didn't let Brooke off the hook.

Charlotte: “I understand. But if you're going to work here, you have to learn how to come in with a good attitude.”

BROOKE STARTS QUESTIONING THE JOB

Brooke looked around the nearly empty building.

Brooke: “So am I supposed to come in early every day?”
Charlotte: “We'll talk about your hours.”

Brooke wasn't finished.

Brooke: “And is this going to be salary?”

Charlotte laughed and shook her head.

Charlotte: “Let's not talk about salary right now. Let's talk about your hours and coming in with a good attitude.”

Brooke rolled her eyes slightly.

Charlotte could tell Brooke wasn't thrilled about the situation.

Charlotte: “I'm really trying to help you.”
“YOU TURNED ME DOWN BEFORE”

Charlotte reminded Brooke that she had already tried to help her get started before.

Charlotte: “You turned me down before. Well... technically your assistant turned me down.”

Brooke looked at her.

Brooke: “That's why I didn't expect you to suddenly tell me to come work today.”

Charlotte explained that this was an opportunity for Brooke to learn.

Charlotte: “You just need a little more sleep and a little better attitude. The people in this building need someone who smiles.”

Brooke looked unconvinced.

Brooke: “So now I'm supposed to smile all day?”
Charlotte: “You're going to be greeting tenants. They're going to be all around the building. We greet everybody with a smile.”
BROOKE ASKS WHY CHARLOTTE IS TEACHING HER ADULT LESSONS

Brooke suddenly became more serious.

Brooke: “But why are you acting like you're responsible for teaching me how to be an adult?”

Charlotte looked directly at her.

Charlotte: “Because somebody has to show you the ropes. I'm not trying to raise you. I'm trying to help you learn how a workplace works.”

That answer made Brooke quiet for a moment.

Charlotte wasn't insulting her. She was actually trying to prepare her.

Charlotte: “You'll learn as you go along. I'm going to show you everything.”
THE WARNING SIGN BECOMES A LESSON

Charlotte pointed toward another item that needed to be moved.

Charlotte: “Can you get that warning sign?”
Brooke: “Why are we touching an empty building?”

Charlotte smiled.

Charlotte: “Because I need to lease this space. If I don't have the warning sign and the floor plan, people don't know what they have.”

She handed Brooke the sign.

Charlotte: “Come on. We'll put one by each front door.”

Brooke reluctantly followed her.

Charlotte showed her exactly where the signs needed to go.

Charlotte: “Turn it around. People have to be able to see it.”

Brooke adjusted the sign.

For the first time that morning, she wasn't arguing.

BROOKE REALIZES WHY BETHANY NEVER GAVE HER A HEADS-UP

As Brooke stood beside Charlotte, a thought suddenly crossed her mind.

Brooke: “Wait... why didn't Mom tell me all this beforehand?”

Charlotte paused.

Charlotte: “That's something you need to ask Bethany.”

Brooke looked toward the entrance.

She had been blaming Charlotte for the unexpected morning, but now she realized Charlotte wasn't the person who had failed to warn her.

Brooke: “So I'm supposed to learn the job, learn the schedule, learn how to deal with tenants... and nobody thought to tell me before I showed up?”

Charlotte smiled slightly.

Charlotte: “You're here now. Let's make the best of it.”

Brooke looked at the warning sign, then back at Charlotte.

She finally smiled.

But there was still one person Brooke wanted answers from.
