Brooke sat quietly in her room, staring at the floor.

“You're still moping?”

“I'm not calling you a liar for no reason. Too many things happened that don't make sense.”
“What doesn't make sense?”

“It proves you haven't told us everything.”
Brooke stood up.

Bethany looked surprised by Brooke's tone.
“I loved him. I trusted him. And when everything fell apart, I was the one who had to deal with it!”
“So please stop sitting here acting like I'm some liar who doesn't know what happened in my own relationship!”
Bethany stepped closer.
“Then stop getting defensive every time somebody asks you a question.”
“I'm getting defensive because you keep accusing me!”
“Because I don't believe your story!”
Brooke stared at her.
Larry immediately stepped between the argument emotionally, trying to keep both sides calm.
“Enough. Both of you need to calm down.”
💔 Brooke Says She's Done Explaining Herself
Brooke wiped her eyes.
Her anger had turned into hurt.
“You know what hurts the most? I thought I could come home and feel safe here.”
Bethany's expression softened for a moment.
“Instead, I feel like I have to defend myself every time I walk into a room.”
Larry looked at Brooke.
“That's not what we're trying to do.”
“Maybe not. But that's exactly how it feels.”
