Brooke & Destiny Oversleep — And Sharra Is NOT Playing!
🌅 The Morning That Went Left
Sharra storms into the room, already frustrated.
“I JUST came in here 45 minutes ago and woke y’all up! Now you missed the bus — and I’ve got to take you to school myself? Get up!”
Brooke is still sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Brooke, why are you still sitting there? Destiny, I just woke y’all up and you’re still laying down? What is going on?”
The girls slowly look at each other.
📋 “When You Stay Here, It’s Rules.”
Sharra crosses her arms.
“When you come over here, there are rules and regulations. Do you understand?”
“Yes…” Destiny answers quietly.
“No, we’re not doing this. If you stay here on a school night, you go to bed on time. You do your homework. You mind what I say. Do you hear me, Brooke? Destiny?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Because if that’s the case, you could’ve stayed at your dad’s house and let Bethany worry about getting you up.”
Brooke sighs. “We just woke up late.”
🚗 Now I’ve Got to Take You?!
Sharra throws her hands up.
“Now I’ve got to take you to school! I did NOT want to do that. You were supposed to catch that bus.”
“I’m telling Dad,” Brooke mutters.
“Why are you telling him?” Sharra snaps. “You wanted to stay over here! I let you stay — but it’s still a school night!”
She grabs her purse.
“I’ve got clients today. I’ve got things to do. I don’t have time to be driving y’all when the bus was the plan.”
“Our bad…” Destiny says softly.
⏰ Move With Some Urgency!
“Why are y’all still standing there? Get your stuff! This makes no sense.”
The girls start moving — slowly.
“No, not like that. Faster. I don’t have all day! Should I call your dad? What’s going to make y’all move quicker?”
“Baby, how are you going to make us move faster?” Brooke mumbles.
“Brooke! Put some fire under you. Go change. Now.”
She points toward the door.
“I’m about to be downstairs putting on my coat. You better be in that car. If not, you’ll be walking.”
🤫 The Whispered Realization
As Sharra leaves, the girls look at each other.
“She’s just mad,” Destiny whispers.
“Why didn’t we just get up when she woke us up?” Brooke says.
“Because it’s different sleeping somewhere else. You be half asleep.”
Brooke shakes her head.
“Yeah… but she was definitely talking to us.”
They both scramble to get dressed.
