Brooke had been thinking about the family for a while. She knew things between Lynette and the household had not exactly been peaceful. But this time, Brooke didn't want drama. She wanted a family gathering.

So she picked up the phone and called Lynette.

Lynette: “I'm doing good. How are you?”

Brooke smiled. She had something special to ask.

Brooke: “I'm calling to invite you to our Labor Day cookout.”

Lynette: “Do they know you're inviting me? Does your dad know? Does Bethany know?”

Brooke didn't hesitate.

Brooke: “Listen, they all know. I'm telling you, they don't care. Everybody wants you here.”

But Lynette wasn't about to walk into Larry's house without making sure Larry himself approved.

Lynette: “I think maybe I should probably call your dad.”
Brooke: “You don't have to call him. That's why I'm calling to invite you.”

💥 THEN BROOKE DROPS THE BETHANY BOMB!

Lynette asked who was cooking. Brooke proudly answered.

Brooke: “My dad's cooking.”
Lynette: “And Bethany isn't cooking?”
Brooke: “No, she's not cooking at all.”

The two laughed. But neither of them realized that Bethany was about to become the biggest part of the story.
