🚗 CHAPTER 1 — Larry Refuses to Give Brooke Her Keys Back
Brooke woke up expecting the tension from the previous night to have finally disappeared.
But when she walked into the living room, Larry was already sitting there.
And sitting directly beside him on the table were Brooke's car keys.
Brooke immediately stopped.
BROOKE: “Are those my keys?”
Larry looked at her but didn't move them.
LARRY: “Yeah. They're right here.”
BROOKE: “Then give them to me.”
Larry shook his head.
LARRY: “Not yet.”
Brooke's expression changed immediately.
BROOKE: “What do you mean, not yet? That's my car.”
LARRY: “Then sit down. We're going to talk before you get those keys back.”
Brooke crossed her arms.
She already knew this wasn't going to be a simple conversation.
😤 CHAPTER 2 — “Before You Get Your Keys, Admit What You Did”
Larry looked Brooke directly in the eyes.
LARRY: “You've been making decisions without thinking about the consequences.”
BROOKE: “I'm allowed to make my own decisions.”
LARRY: “You are. But being able to make a decision doesn't mean you're protected from the consequences.”
Brooke rolled her eyes.
BROOKE: “So what exactly do you want me to say?”
Larry leaned forward.
LARRY: “I want you to admit when you've been wrong.”
Brooke became quiet.
Larry reminded her about the arguments, the decisions she had made without telling anyone, and the way she had expected everyone else to clean up the consequences afterward.
LARRY: “You can't keep doing whatever you want and then expect me to fix everything.”
BROOKE: “I never asked you to fix everything.”
LARRY: “Brooke, I've been fixing things whether you asked me to or not.”
That statement made Brooke pause.
Larry picked up the keys.
LARRY: “If you want these back, tell me honestly that you understand where you went wrong.”
Brooke stared at the keys.
She wanted them badly.
But she didn't want to admit defeat either.
Finally, she took a breath.
BROOKE: “Okay. I know I've made some bad choices.”
Larry nodded.
LARRY: “That's a start.”
He placed the keys on the table.
But he still didn't slide them toward her.
🧽 CHAPTER 3 — Larry Wakes Brooke Up to Wash Her Own Car
The next morning, Brooke thought the conversation was over.
She was still sleeping when Larry knocked on her bedroom door.
LARRY: “Brooke. Get up.”
Brooke pulled the blanket over her head.
BROOKE: “I'm tired.”
LARRY: “Get up. You're washing your car.”
Brooke immediately sat up.
BROOKE: “What?”
LARRY: “You heard me.”
Brooke walked outside and saw the bucket, soap, sponge and hose waiting beside her car.
BROOKE: “Dad, seriously?”
LARRY: “Seriously.”
BROOKE: “Why can't we just take it somewhere?”
LARRY: “Because you're learning responsibility.”
Brooke sighed.
She started washing the car while Larry watched from a distance.
BROOKE: “You really woke me up for this?”
LARRY: “Yes. Because if you want the privileges, you need to understand the responsibilities.”
Brooke shook her head but continued washing.
Then Larry dropped another bomb.
🚨 CHAPTER 4 — “Starting September, You're Paying Your Own Insurance”
Larry walked closer to Brooke.
LARRY: “There's something else you need to know.”
Brooke stopped washing.
BROOKE: “What now?”
LARRY: “Starting September, you're paying your own car insurance.”
Brooke stared at him.
BROOKE: “Wait. What?”
LARRY: “You heard me.”
BROOKE: “But I don't have enough money for that!”
LARRY: “Then you need to figure out how you're going to earn it.”
Brooke dropped the sponge into the bucket.
BROOKE: “Why are you doing all this to me?”
Larry's expression became serious.
LARRY: “I'm not doing this to you. I'm teaching you that being grown comes with bills.”
Brooke became quiet.
But Larry wasn't finished.
🏠 CHAPTER 5 — Larry Finally Says the Words Brooke Didn't Expect
Larry waited until Brooke finished washing the car.
Then he looked at her seriously.
LARRY: “And there's one more thing.”
Brooke sighed.
BROOKE: “What else?”
LARRY: “If you're going to live in my house, you're going to start contributing toward the household.”
Brooke stared at him.
BROOKE: “You want me to pay rent?”
LARRY: “Yes.”
BROOKE: “I'm your daughter!”
LARRY: “And you're still welcome here. But being my daughter doesn't mean you get unlimited privileges with zero responsibility.”
Brooke's voice became louder.
BROOKE: “So now you're charging me to live here?”
LARRY: “I'm asking you to contribute.”
BROOKE: “I don't have that kind of money.”
LARRY: “Then we need to talk about your choices.”
Brooke looked away.
She realized Larry wasn't joking.
💥 CHAPTER 6 — Brooke Finally Explodes
Brooke could no longer hold her frustration inside.
BROOKE: “Everybody keeps telling me I'm grown when it benefits them, but then when I make my own decisions, suddenly I'm treated like a child!”
Larry remained calm.
LARRY: “That's not what I'm saying.”
BROOKE: “It feels like it!”
LARRY: “You want independence.”
BROOKE: “Yes!”
LARRY: “Then independence comes with responsibility.”
Brooke shook her head.
BROOKE: “What if I can't afford everything?”
Larry looked at her.
LARRY: “Then you learn. You work. You budget. You make a plan.”
BROOKE: “And if I don't?”
Larry paused.
LARRY: “Then we have a much bigger conversation about whether this arrangement is working.”
Brooke's face changed.
She finally understood that Larry was serious.
🔑 CHAPTER 7 — Larry Finally Gives Brooke Her Keys
Larry reached into his pocket.
He pulled out Brooke's car keys.
Brooke immediately looked at them.
LARRY: “You earned these back by admitting where you went wrong.”
He handed them to her.
Brooke took them quietly.
BROOKE: “Thank you.”
Larry nodded.
LARRY: “But don't misunderstand me. Getting the keys back doesn't mean the conversation is over.”
Brooke looked at him.
LARRY: “September is coming.”
Brooke sighed.
BROOKE: “I know.”
LARRY: “Insurance.”
BROOKE: “I know.”
LARRY: “Household contribution.”
BROOKE: “I know!”
Larry almost smiled.
LARRY: “Good. Then we're on the same page.”
🚨 BUT THEN LARRY DROPS ONE FINAL BOMBSHELL…
Brooke thought the conversation was finally finished.
She grabbed her keys and started walking toward the house.
Then Larry called her name.
LARRY: “Brooke.”
She turned around.
BROOKE: “What?”
Larry looked serious again.
LARRY: “There's one more bill we're going to talk about tonight.”
Brooke's eyes widened.
BROOKE: “What bill?”
Larry didn't answer.
He simply walked back toward the house.
Brooke stood there holding her car keys, completely confused.
😳 What bill was Larry talking about?
🔥 Was he about to make Brooke responsible for even more expenses?
🏠 And would Brooke actually agree to pay rent—or finally decide it was time to leave?
One thing was certain:
Larry had officially changed the rules.
🚨 WHAT DO YOU THINK BROOKE SHOULD DO?
Should Brooke accept the responsibility and start paying rent, insurance and her own expenses—or should she move out and prove she can handle everything on her own? 👀🔥
